The Torch is published monthly by the Olympia Journalism class. The editorial policy of The Torch is to report issues and events fairly. The staff encourages students and faculty to express their opinions by submitting signed letters to The Torch in room B-4. The staff reserves the right to refuse publication of letters if the content is not appropriate for a school publication. The opinions expressed in The Torch do not necessarily reflect those of Olympia High School or The Torch staff as a whole.      Submissions for Writer’s Block are subject to changes or refusal of publication if the content is inappropriate.      Until recently, The Torch has been produced as a student newspaper, including a strong focus on Olympia High School news. The Torch staff is now regularly writing news articles for the District web page, so The Torch is shifting to a magazine format. Although The Torch’s main focus is now entertainment, sports, student editorials and in-depth articles, The Torch is still committed to reporting news as well. News articles written by Torch staff members can be found on the Olympia Web site, www.olympia.org.
