Garden Pink Ideal Hybrid Mix

Dianthus barbatus x chinensis Ideal Hybrid Mix
Garden Pink Ideal Hybrid Mix: Blooms in 3- to 4-inch clusters which are solid violet, solid red, solid pink, and white with either pink or red centers. They have the characteristic Dianthus form: 5 to 6 broad, sprawling petals open flat, with fringed edges, forming a neatly notched circle.
Vivid colors stay bright all summer!

This Perennial Dianthus Can Really Stand the Heat!
Early blooms on compact plants flourish in summer weather.

The first Dianthus bred to withstand summer heat, the Ideal Hybrid Mix is still treasured not only for its tough, long-lasting blooms but its compact form and early-blooming nature. Very richly colored (the violet won an AAS Award!), these delightful blooms are easy to grow and irresistible in the garden.

The plants reach 12 inches tall, and begin their bloom ahead of most other China Pinks, extending the long season of color both at the beginning and the end! This mix contains solid red, solid violet, solid pink, and two white varieties--one with a soft pink center, the other with a deep crimson! All colors complement each other well in a mass planting!

Start seeds indoors in late winter or in the garden after danger of frost. Dianthus likes full sun and well-drained, gritty soil.
