WELCOME TO OUR WEB PAGE!

Welcome to my website! This website is designed so that we can share what's happening in our classroom with our family and friends.  As you explore this site, you can find our daily schedule, read about special events and learning that is taking place, tour our classroom, and view classroom projects and activities. I hope that by visiting this classroom website, you will get a better idea of what we do each day!

News from 3S—August 29, 2008

We survived the first week of school and are very thankful that the temperature has been so pleasant. It’s a lot easier to work when it’s not 90 degrees in the classroom!  Thanks for sending water bottles to school with your children and for sending in the skinny markers and headphones.

Parent Questionnaires

I appreciate your candor on the questionnaires I sent home. They truly help me to see where your concerns are for your child and how I might work more effectively with each child. Please send that to school ASAP. Thanks.

Home Folders

I use Home Folders as a way to take papers home from school and bring anything back to school from home. They should go back and forth from home to school every day. Please be sure you make arrangements with your child for sharing those papers with you. It builds responsibility if you expect your child to take care of the folder—with your help, of course—rather than taking it in and out of his bookbag yourself.

Highlights & Book Orders

An order form for the excellent children’s magazine Highlights went home on Wednesday. Even if you do not plan to order it, your signature on the yellow page will help earn materials for our classroom. Also, September Scholastic book orders went home Thursday. Please return all orders by September 5th

Math

We are working on concepts of place value during math time. We have also taken our first timed addition and subtraction tests. Your child's tests were sent home on Friday along with an informational note regarding them.

Science

We will be working with concepts in life science, such as living/nonliving things. We soaked gravel and bean seeds to look for any changes.
